Prologue for a blog!

It's been a long time coming, but I finally kicked my computer gaming habit and have moved back into the "arts". I wasn't interested in starting a business and working for someone else until I was really ready and really wanted to. So for now, I want to make something for myself.

So... what do to?

After mindlessly playing around in Google Images for several hours one day, I finally stumbled upon a Star Wars fan club. They are called the 501st Legion: Vader's Fist. I had heard about these guys in the past, and even saw them marching in the Rose Parade and kinda thought they were half cool, half embarrassingly nerdy. Sounds right up my alley.

After a little research I realized their sister group, The Rebel Legion was for the "good" guys, and the good guy I wanted to make was Chewbacca. I was done with "Lurking" on their website and wanted to join them.

That's the short story, but sometimes I can't tell people that story because they often give me an uncomprehending look. So instead I tell them I'm making a Star Wars costume for Halloween, or for charity events. Both are true, but when I tell them it's for a charity cause, it carries less of a stigma.

Ok, enough of that intro, let me show you what I want to accomplish and how I'm going about it.

This is the movie Chewbacca from the Original Trilogy movies (OT):
